Tough Day at the Plate for the Cubs
Oof! That was a tough one, Cubs fans. The Chicago Cubs fell to the Milwaukee Brewers, 0-4, in a game where hits and runs were as rare as a North Side parking spot on game day. From the very first pitch, our bats struggled to connect, and although there were glimmers of promise, we couldn't convert them into runs.Brew Crew's Defense and Pitching
Give credit where it's due—those Brewers came out with some stellar pitching and defense today. Kyle Tucker managed to get a couple of hits, but we simply couldn't get the momentum going. Even Seiya Suzuki, who usually delivers big in crucial moments, struck out in three different at-bats. Yikes!
The Crucial Sixth Inning
Let’s talk about that fateful sixth inning: Jackson Chourio singled to left, and an unfortunate wild pitch by Merryweather allowed Chourio to score the first run. Daz Cameron and Caleb Durbin followed with some aggressive base running, bringing the Brewers' score to four. The last inning offered some hope, with Ian Happ singling to left and Tucker walking to put runners on first and second. But alas, our hopes were dashed as Suzuki's flyout and a couple of strikeouts failed to deliver any runs.
Kudos to Tucker for a sneaky steal of second base, but like a promising forecast with rain, we couldn't send any rain checks.Keep the Faith, Cubs Fans!
