Despite a quick home run by the Mets' Brandon Nimmo in the bottom of the 1st, giving the Mets an early lead, our Cubs remained unfazed and focused.Our lineup, with Nico Hoerner, Mike Tauchman, and Ian Happ taking the lead, struggled to break through the Mets' defense initially. However, their persistence and determination laid down the groundwork for what was to come.

Fast forward to the 8th inning, things started to look up for our Cubs.
Michael Busch worked a crucial walk, and Dansby Swanson singled, hinting at the momentum shift towards our side. It was Nick Madrigal, pinch-hitting for Yan Gomes, who brought in the tying run, leveling the score at 1-1.The real magic happened in the 9th inning when Mike Tauchman doubled and set the stage for Christopher Morel.
