A Tough Day at Citi Field for the Cubs
Well folks, tonight wasn’t quite the night we were hoping for. Our beloved Chicago Cubs took on the New York Mets, and unfortunately, we fell short in this battle with a final score of 2-7.
Some Early Home Runs by the Mets
The game kicked off with Francisco Lindor quickly giving the Mets an edge in the bottom of the 1st with a home run to right center. Then, Brett Baty and Jeff McNeil joined the party with homers of their own in the 2nd inning, putting our Cubs in a 0-3 hole early on. Our starters tried to fight back, but unfortunately, their bats had our pitching staff on the ropes for much of the game. In the 4th inning, Juan Soto extended the Mets’ lead with another home run.Cubs' Sparks of Hope
While the night was mostly dominated by the Mets, we had a few shining moments to cheer for!

Final Thoughts
Despite the final score, it’s important to celebrate the resilience shown by our team today. The Mets might have claimed the victory, but let’s tip our hats to moments of brilliance from Tucker and Busch, not forgetting Crow-Armstrong's efforts in the 9th. Perseverance is key. Forward and onward to the next one, fellow Cubs enthusiasts! Go Cubs Go!
