After a scoreless first inning, the Cubs turned on the heat in the second inning. A sac fly by Kelly followed by a three-run homer from Seiya Suzuki helped the Cubs load up the score to 4-0. Our boys in green and gold got their two runs in the third inning courtesy of Brent Rooker, who smashed a two-run homer to bring in Lawrence Butler.
However, the Cubs were relentless; Suzuki struck again in the fourth inning with another homer, extending their lead. The Cubs added to their dominance with runs in the fourth and seventh innings, sealing the fate of the game. Closing Efforts Fall Short
