Tough Loss But Proud of the Effort! 
What a nail-biter of a game we've just witnessed between the Padres and the Cubs! Though the final score saw our Padres on the short end of a 2-1 defeat in extra innings, it's undeniable how much heart our team showed throughout the match-up. The game kicked off with both teams failing to score any runs in the first three innings, but it was clear early on that each team's defenses were sharp and ready to compete. 
Highlight Moment: Machado Goes Deep! 
The real excitement for us Padres fans came in the bottom of the 5th inning, when Manny Machado absolutely crushed a homer to left-center, giving us a temporary lead of 1-0. That blast was an electric moment, providing a much-needed spark for our lineup and getting us all hopeful for a victory! Fernando Tatis Jr. and Luis Arraez both showed good plate discipline with their approach but, unfortunately, we couldn't put more runs on the board early on.Extra-Innings Heartbreaker 
Heading into the 10th inning tied at 1-1, the tension was palpable. The Cubs managed to take advantage and scored an extra and decisive run thanks to a critical triple by Hoerner. Even though the final inning saw opportunities for our boys, we just couldn't quite string it together to bring them around and tie it up again. A tough result, but our Padres played with grit and determination until the very last out. Shout out to all the fans for keeping up the energy and supporting our team! We'll get them next time, Padres!
