Pitcher's Duel Early On

It was a quiet beginning at Rogers Centre, with both the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs unable to get runners across home plate through the first five innings. Despite some solid contact and a few base hits, both teams' defense held strong. Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., among others, just couldn't find the holes in the Cubs' defense. 😞

The Cubs Strike First

In the top of the 6th inning, the Cubs caught a break when Michael Busch launched a solo home run to right center, tipping the scale in favor of Chicago, 1-0. It was a tough moment for us Jays fans, as up to this point the defense had been rock solid. 🏟️

Guerrero Jr. Saves The Day

The tension was building until the bottom of the 7th when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. stepped up. After Davis Schneider managed to get on via a walk and Ernie Clement advanced him with a sac bunt, Vlad Jr. delivered a two-run homer to center that electrified the stadium! With that swing, Toronto took the lead, 2-1! What a moment! 💥💙

Strong Finish For The Win

Toronto's bullpen took care of business in the 8th and 9th innings. Domínguez and Hoffman came in to ensure the lead was protected. Despite the Cubs threatening with runners on second and third during the 8th, both pitchers showed poise, with Hoffman striking out Dansby Swanson to end the game. A nail-biter for sure, but ultimately a thrilling 2-1 victory for the Blue Jays! 🏆🎉

What a game, Jays fans! Let’s keep this momentum going! Blue Jays forever! 🌟🐦
