A Tough Day For The Nats! 😕

Hey Nats fans, today's game was a rollercoaster. We went head-to-head against the Cubs but fell short with a final score of 5-3. Let's dive into the highlights and key moments of the game.

Strong Start, But Cubs Rally Back

In the bottom of the 2nd inning, we saw some great action. Joey Gallo singled to right, bringing home Jose Tena for the game’s first run. Andres Chaparro then extended our lead in the 4th inning with a solo homer to left, making it 2-0.

However, the Cubs weren't backing down. They fought back in the 5th inning with Isaac Paredes walking and eventually scoring on a sac fly, followed by a couple more runs from fielding errors. By the middle of the inning, the score flipped to 4-2 in favor of the Cubs.

Fighting Till The End

Despite the Cubs’ surge, our boys didn’t give up 🥊. In the bottom of the 5th, James Wood walked and advanced on a wild pitch, allowing Luis Garcia Jr. to bring him in, cutting the Cubs’ lead to 4-3.

But the Cubs added another in the 7th inning, making our climb steeper.

Couldn’t Seal The Deal</HEADING]

Things looked promising in the bottom of the 9th with Drew Millas and Jacob Young on base, but the Cubs reliever Hodge came in strong, shutting us down. Dylan Crews and James Wood both fell victim to strikeouts to end the game.

Even though we couldn't pull off the win today, there were flashes of great plays and strong at-bats. Tena went 3-for-3, Chaparro showcased his power, and our pitchers had their moments.

Keep your heads up, Nats fans! On to the next game. Let’s go, Nats! ⚾🔴⚪🔵
