Tough Loss in Kansas City
Hey White Sox fans! Today was a rough one at Kauffman Stadium as our boys fell to the Kansas City Royals 1-6. We struggled at the plate and on the basepaths, leading to a disappointing night.Early Troubles
The game started with promising hits but ended up getting us in trouble. Andrew Benintendi managed a single in the top of the 1st, but Luis Robert Jr. struck out, and Benintendi got caught stealing. The bottom half of the inning was a nightmare as the Royals notched three quick runs with hits from Vinnie Pasquantino, Salvador Perez, Michael Massey, and Hunter Renfroe.Struggles at the Plate
Our bats were quiet most of the night. Tommy Pham, Eloy Jiménez, and Brooks Baldwin all had frustrating outs. Baldwin struck out swinging twice, leaving runners stranded and opportunities wasted.A Lone Run
We finally got on the board in the 8th. Tommy Pham doubled to left and advanced to third on a fielding error, which set up Andrew Benintendi to ground out to second and score Pham. But that's where our rally ended, with Luis Robert Jr. striking out looking and Andrew Vaughn swinging.Adding Insult to Injury
The bottom of the 8th was another tough inning to watch. Nick Loftin reached on an error before the Royals loaded the bases. Although Andrew Banks managed a few strikeouts, he couldn’t prevent Blanco and Witt Jr. from scoring on walks. It was just a series of unfortunate events that led to two more runs for the Royals.Looking Forward
Let's hope our boys can turn it around for the next game. We have a lot to work on, but we know our White Sox have the talent to bounce back. Stay positive, and as always, Go Sox! ️Scoreboard for White Sox @ Royals (July 20th, 2024)
