Tough Loss in Seattle
What started as a pitchers' duel quickly turned into heartbreak for us White Sox fans as our boys fell to the Mariners, 8-4, in a game that slipped away late. The day held promise with Luis Robert Jr. launching a 403-foot bomb in the 6th, but the Mariners rallied late to steal the win.Pitchers' Duel Through Six
Both teams were scoreless through five innings, with our pitching keeping the Mariners' bats quiet. The excitement peaked in the 6th when Robert Jr. cracked a two-run homer, following Korey Lee's double, to put the White Sox up 2-0. We extended our lead to 3-0 in the 7th thanks to a single from Lenyn Sosa driving in Andrew Vaughn, who had doubled earlier. Hope was in the air when Corey Julks added a solo shot in the 8th, making it 4-0 for the Sox.The Eighth Inning Collapse
The bottom of the 8th was rough. The Mariners loaded the bases and then some timely hitting, combined with a crucial hit by pitch, brought the game to a tie at 4-4. As if scripted for further torment, the Mariners' Cal Raleigh hit a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th, sealing our fate with a final score of 8-4. Our bullpen, which had been so reliable, just couldn't hold back the late charge from the Mariners.Looking Forward
While this loss stings, especially after leading for most of the game, it's essential to remember it's a long season. The resilience shown by our guys through the first seven innings is what being a White Sox fan is all about. We'll bounce back; we always do. Shoutout to Robert Jr. and Julks for their homers and to Vaughn and Sosa for their clutch hits. Here's to hoping we can turn things around in the next game and get back to our winning ways.
