A Strong Start Thanks to Yandy and Junior
What a thrilling game yesterday against the White Sox!
The first inning was truly something special for us Rays fans. Chandler Simpson started things off by reaching on an infield single and wasted no time stealing second! The energy was electric as Yandy DÃaz smashed it with a homer to right, bringing Simpson home with him. And just like that, we were up 2-0! But the fireworks didn’t stop there. Jonathan Aranda kept the momentum going with a double, and then Junior Caminero came in hot with a spectacular homer to right-center field, which added two more to the board. A perfect start with a 4-0 lead! 
A Tough Battle: White Sox Fight Back
After such a strong opening, it was a tough pill to swallow in the second inning when the White Sox retaliated. Colson Montgomery's three-run homer tied us up at 4-4. A frustrating inning, but it proved to be a relentless battle of back-and-forth between both teams. Despite the White Sox's pressure, Jake Mangum managed a double in the first, and Taylor Walls and José Caballero each also stole bases in subsequent innings, echoing our early aggressive play!
Holding On Strong: Late Inning Drama
Both teams were vying for the upper hand. In the 8th inning, Montgomery contributed a crucial double for the White Sox, leading to them pulling away with an 11-7 lead. Yet, our Rays didn’t back down. Plays from Caballero and Caminero attempted to close the gap—each hustling and illustrating resilience as they picked up two additional runs. With bases once loaded, hope ignited that we'd see a game shift back in our favor. Although the night concluded with a tough 11-9 loss to the White Sox, this game showcased our Rays' fierce competitive spirit and determination until the final out. Way to go, team! We'll get them next time!
