A Tough Battle at Wrigley Field: Cubs Fall Short Against the Reds
Well, fellow Cubs fans, it was a nail-biter tonight at Wrigley Field where our boys battled hard but eventually succumbed to the Cincinnati Reds with a final score of 3-2. It was an intense game filled with ups and downs, and though it didn't end in our favor, we'll get right back up and take another swing tomorrow!
Early Struggles and a Glimmer of Hope
Our Cubs started a bit slow with Nico Hoerner, Kyle Tucker, and Seiya Suzuki each grounding out in the first inning. Meanwhile, the Reds got on the board first with a solo home run by Tyler Stephenson in the second inning.

The Reds Rally Back
Just as things appeared to go our way, the Reds responded in the sixth inning with Elly De La Cruz hitting a crucial double that tied the game at 2-2. The tension was high, but both defenses held strong—keeping fans on the edge of their seats through the seventh inning stretch.Cubs Unable to Recover
In the seventh inning, Fraley's timely single for the Reds allowed Hayes to score from third, putting them ahead 3-2. Our Cubs fought back with Willi Castro getting a hit and advancing, but we couldn't capitalize on the opportunities that came our way in the innings to follow. Though Pete Crow-Armstrong managed to get on base in the eighth, it wasn't enough as the Reds' defense tightened, with Nico Hoerner lining into a double play and Kyle Tucker striking out.Looking Forward
Despite the loss, there were shining moments, particularly with Dansby Swanson's homer and the effort from our bullpen to keep the game within reach. The love for our Cubs remains firm, and with the heart they showed today, we’re optimistic they’ll bounce back stronger in the upcoming games!
