Cubs Strike First and Hold Strong
Fellow Cubs fans, what a game at Wrigley today as our Cubbies took on the Reds! It started off as a bit of a deadlock, with the first couple of innings keeping us on edge with no scores for either team. But don't worry, things heated up in the 3rd when Nico Hoerner got on base with a nice single to right. Justin Turner followed up with another single. Then, it was Seiya Suzuki who stepped up with a sacrifice fly, allowing Hoerner to dash home for our first run!
Suzuki Heats Up, Swanson with the Power
Moving into the 6th inning, our hero of the night, Seiya Suzuki, slammed a homer to left, putting us up 2-0! Not to be outdone, Dansby Swanson in the 7th inning decided to send another one flying over the left fence, extending our lead to 3-0. Way to go, Swanson! With Carson Kelly adding another RBI, we were up 4-0 by the end of the 7th. The Reds just couldn't handle our bats today.
Cubs Close It Out in Style
The 8th inning saw more fireworks as Ian Happ sent a homer out to left-center, and Hoerner drove Matt Shaw home with a single. That made it 6-0 before the Reds finally answered in the 9th. But no worries, that lone run wasn't enough to shake our lead. Pitching was solid all around, especially with Palencia closing it out strong. What a dominant win for the Cubs, final score 6-1! Let's keep this momentum going as we cheer on the best team around. Go Cubs Go!
