Another Tough One at Wrigley
It was a frustrating day for us Cubs fans as we saw our team fall 3-0 to the Reds in 10 innings. The excitement was high as always at Wrigley, but our bats just couldn’t get going today.Pitchers Duel Early On
Both teams were locked in a scoreless battle through nine innings. Caleb Kilian and Hayden Wesneski combined to keep the Reds quiet until the 8th inning, and Drew Smyly and Keegan Thompson did their part in relief. On the other side, the Reds' pitchers stymied our lineup repeatedly.Missed Opportunities
We had our chances to break the game open. In the 2nd inning, Michael Busch and Isaac Paredes walked to put runners on base, but we couldn’t capitalize. The 4th inning saw Seiya Suzuki and Busch again on base, but Christian Bethancourt struck out to end the threat.Extra Inning Heartbreak
The 10th inning started with a critical mistake, as pinch-runner Blake Dunn scored on a double by Elly De La Cruz to start the Reds rally. Tyler Stephenson’s RBI single added to the frustration, bringing the score to 3-0.Final Attempt Falls Short
In the bottom of the 10th, Luis Vázquez reached third, but we couldn’t bring him home. Nico Hoerner popped out, and after Suzuki walked, Michael Busch flied out to end the game.Final score: 3-0 Reds.
Hang in there, Cubs fans. We’ve had our ups and downs this season, and today was certainly a down, but there’s always tomorrow . Let’s keep our heads up and look forward to the next game!
