Reds Struggle to Find Their Footing
As a devoted Cincinnati Reds fan, it's always challenging to see our beloved team falter. The matchup against the Astros was far from the result we hoped for, with the Reds failing to score and ultimately going down 0-6. Our bats seemed to be silent from the start, with TJ Friedl, Matt McLain, and Elly De La Cruz all striking out in the opening inning. Not the start that inspires confidence!
Astros Take the Lead
The Astros came alive in the third inning, with Yainer Diaz delivering the big blow—a three-run homer, sending us trailing at 0-3. Our pitcher held them as best as he could, but the Astros' bats were relentless.
Reds' Missed Opportunities
Despite our struggles, there were glimpses of hope. Spencer Steer doubled in the fifth, but sadly couldn't be driven home. Jose Trevino also hit a double in the eighth, moving close to breaking our scoring drought, but it was not to be. We're left scoreless, and it's a bitter pill to swallow as a Reds fan. Here's hoping that our next game sees our bats heating up and our luck turning around. Let's go, Reds!
