A Rollercoaster Start
The game kicked off with an intense first inning as both teams worked to find their footing. Jonathan India and Bobby Witt Jr. set an aggressive tone, with Witt Jr. managing to steal a base. Unfortunately, we still ended the inning tied at zero.
A Glimpse of Hope
In the bottom of the second inning, our lineup came alive! Could you feel it too?
Reds Roar Back
Alas, the third inning onwards saw the Reds flex their muscles. Elly De La Cruz was phenomenal, hitting two homers and driving their score up. Our pitching struggled to contain their lineup, and a key error in the eighth saw the Reds extend their lead. The sharp plays from John Rave and others couldn't save the day.
The Royals Keep Battling
Even trailing in the final innings, our boys didn't back down. Massey hustled to the center field to get on base again in the 9th, despite facing a significant deficit. We've got spirit, no doubt about it!
Despite the 7-2 finish that landed in the favor of the Reds, there were certainly moments to cherish and lessons to be learned. Hang in there, fellow Royals fans – we'll get 'em next time!
