Tough Night in LA

While our boys from Cincinnati put up a good fight, especially in those early innings, the Dodgers proved to be a formidable opponent in LA last night. The game started with promise as TJ Friedl began with a single to left field, setting a hopeful tone, but we couldn’t capitalize further. Despite an opening strikeout from Noelvi Marte, his third-inning solo blast to left-center gave us our lone highlight, putting Cincinnati momentarily ahead 1-0! 🚀

Dodgers Rally

Things took a turn for the worse during the bottom of the fourth inning. A series of singles from the Dodgers led to two pivotal runs, quickly changing the score to 2-1. Unfortunately, the Dodgers weren’t done, and Dalton Rushing tacked on two more with his clutch single. By the end of the inning, the Dodgers had posted four runs, securing a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Pitching & Missed Opportunities

Despite a solid start, our pitching was put to the test against LA's lineup. Ohtani's arm proved too much for our offense, as swinging strikeouts by Elly De La Cruz and Austin Hays ended potential rallies repeatedly. The eighth was another challenging moment as Michael Conforto stretched LA's lead with a solo homer. The ninth inning saw a courageous single from Friedl and some late base running attempts with fielder's indifference, but De La Cruz was unable to break through, capping off a 5-1 loss.

Final Thoughts

Although it was a tough night for our great Cincinnati Reds in LA, Noelvi Marte’s home run was a bright spot 🌟 and should be a boost of confidence moving forward. With the team's resilience and fighting spirit, I'm confident they will bounce back in the next game! Let's keep cheering them on, Reds fans! 🙌
