Rough Start for the Reds
Well, Reds fans, today’s game against the Marlins left a lot to be desired. The game started with a tough first inning as Jonathan India flied out, Elly De La Cruz struck out swinging, and although Tyler Stephenson doubled, TJ Friedl flied out, leaving us scoreless. To make matters worse, Miami answered back big time. Jake Burger homered, and Derek Hill hit a grand slam, putting the Marlins up 5-0.Struggling to Find Momentum
The Reds continued to struggle through the second and third innings. We loaded the bases in the second inning, but Jonathan India struck out looking to end what could've been a crucial rally. We couldn’t capitalize in the third either. Props to Abbott for preventing any further damage on the mound, but our offense needed to step up.Bright Spot in the Seventh
Finally, in the seventh inning, life was breathed back into the Reds. After Fraley and Espinal got on base, Tyler Stephenson walked, setting the stage for a thrilling three-run homer by TJ Friedl! This brought us to 6-4. The rally continued with a single by Ty France, but Jeimer Candelario struck out to end the inning just as hope was rising.Missed Opportunity in the Ninth
The drama wasn’t over. With Elly De La Cruz walking and Tyler Stephenson doubling, we had runners on second and third with only one out. Stuart Fairchild ran for Stephenson as France got hit by a pitch, loading the bases. Unfortunately, Jeimer Candelario grounded out, sealing a 6-4 loss for the Reds. Close but no cigar.Hang in there, Reds Nation. Let's hope the boys bounce back stronger in the next game!
