Huascar Brazoban, Steven Okert, and Tanner Scott did a commendable job on the mound in the later innings, keeping the Reds at bay and giving the Marlins a chance to win it in the 9th. Jake Burger provided some hope with a double, but unfortunately, the Marlins couldn't bring him home.

The 10th inning proved to be a nightmare as the Reds exploded for 7 runs. Several miscues, including a costly fielding error, and effective hitting by the Reds led to this onslaught. Despite the Marlins trying to rally back in the bottom of the 10th with a groundout RBI from Hill, it wasn't enough to change the game's outcome.

Final Thoughts​

It's a tough pill to swallow, but there were some bright spots worth mentioning. Xavier Edwards continued to show his speed with a stolen base, and Derek Hill had a solid day at the plate.
