Tough Day in Milwaukee
It was a tough day for our Cincinnati Reds as they fell 2-8 to the Milwaukee Brewers. The game started with great defensive plays from both teams. TJ Friedl, Santiago Espinal, and Elly De La Cruz all came to the plate, but unfortunately, the top of the 1st ended with us unable to capitalize. We managed to put some pressure on the Brewers in the 3rd inning after Spencer Steer walked, but the momentum didn't last long as the Brewers quickly ended the threat.Brewers Storm the Lead
The Brewers pulled ahead in the 3rd inning with a score of 2-0 thanks to some unfortunate plays that allowed runs by Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio. Our boys held them off until the bottom of the 4th when a few miscues, including a passed ball and a big home run by Chourio, increased the Brewers' lead to 7-0. Despite the score, Gavin Lux showed patience at the plate with a walk in the top of the 4th.Redemption in Home Run Hits
In the 5th inning, Spencer Steer got us on the board with a 379-foot home run to left field. It was a sweet moment amid a challenging game. Later, in the 8th, TJ Friedl brought some cheer by driving in Jake Fraley with a single, making the score 8-2. Despite our efforts and the hit by Christian Encarnacion-Strand to left in the 9th inning, we were unable to close the gap. While this wasn't our day to shine, we're proud of our guys for fighting through it. There's always another game and another chance to show what the Cincinnati Reds are made of!
