A Tough Night in Pittsburgh

Reds Took the Lead Early
Our defense opened strong with Friedl and Lux failing to make it past their first at-bats, and De La Cruz swinging himself into a strikeout. But in the 3rd inning, Cincinnati got rolling. De La Cruz and Andujar turned the tide with critical hits, and before we knew it, they took a commanding lead. Andujar's brilliant homer put the Reds up 4-0. Nevertheless, our boys didn't back down!

Pirates Fight Back
The 4th inning was electric!

The Pirates tied the game in the 5th at 4-4 thanks to Suwinski bringing in Reynolds. The energy at the park was palpable as we hoped for a comeback.

A Rollercoaster Finish
But in the later innings, the Reds' bats were just too much. In the 6th and 9th innings, their sluggers struck again, with Steer and Marte homering at crucial moments. We didn't go down without a fight, though! In the 8th, a clutch error by McLain let Cruz and Pham cross the plate, keeping us within striking range at 9-8.
In the bottom of the 9th, Bart and Kiner-Falefa gave us a glimmer of hope, but it was the Reds' night in the end. Despite the outcome, the fight and resilience shown by our Pirates are something to be proud of!

Let's rally behind our Bucs as they continue the season. There's still plenty of baseball left to play, and we know this team can bring us more thrilling moments and, hopefully, more wins down the line!
