First Inning Struggles

The game didn't start the way we hoped, with the Reds' Tyler Stephenson launching a solo homer out to center field. Our boys, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Bryan Reynolds, and Oneil Cruz, went down quickly. It was a tough way to begin the game, but we held the Reds to just one run. Score: 0-1.

Second and Third Inning Shutdowns

Our pitchers did a fantastic job keeping the Reds in check through the second and third innings. Ty France, Stuart Fairchild, and Amed Rosario all went down swinging in the second. We couldn’t get any momentum going offensively with Joey Bart, Rowdy Tellez, and Bryan De La Cruz all getting quickly out.

Disastrous Fourth Inning 😰

The fourth inning was a nightmare for us. The Reds piled on four more runs to make it 0-5. Ty France, Stuart Fairchild, and Santiago Espinal crushed our spirits. But hey, it ain't over 'til it’s over.

Fifth Inning Rally 🚀

Our bats came alive! Joey Bart and Rowdy Tellez got us going, and Bryan De La Cruz's double brought in our first run. Billy McKinney, Jared Triolo, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa continued the onslaught. We closed the gap to just one run! Score: 4-5.

Game-Changing Sixth Inning

Finally, we tied it up! Oneil Cruz doubled, and Joey Bart singled him home. Rowdy Tellez kept the rally going and Bryan De La Cruz's sacrifice fly gave us the lead. The stadium went wild! Score: 6-5.

Seventh & Eighth Inning Defense

Phew! We needed some solid pitching to maintain our lead and that’s exactly what we got. Our bullpen came through big time as Stephenson and Spencer Steer couldn’t handle our heat. Offensively, we got close to extending our lead but just couldn't capitalize.

Nail-Biting Ninth Inning 😬

Oh boy, this was tense. Will Benson doubled, putting the tying run at third with two outs. But our closer, David Bednar, showed nerves of steel, striking out Santiago Espinal and getting Jonathan India to line out. Game over!

Final Score: Pirates 6, Reds 5 🎉

What a game! After going down 0-5, our Buccos showed tremendous resilience to come back and win it. Hats off to Joey Bart, Rowdy Tellez, and Bryan De La Cruz for sparking that rally. Go Bucs! 🏴‍☠️
