Bats Falter in Close Loss to the Reds
Hey Buccos fans! Tough loss tonight as the Pittsburgh Pirates came up just short in a 2-1 defeat to the Cincinnati Reds at PNC Park. It was a classic pitcher’s duel, with both teams finding it hard to get on base.Strong Start, Quiet Middle
The game kicked off with Spencer Horwitz drawing a walk in the bottom of the 1st, but we couldn't capitalize as Tommy Pham, Bryan Reynolds, and Oneil Cruz were retired in order.

Reds Sneak Ahead
The game stayed tied at 1-1 until the 7th inning when Noelvi Marte doubled and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by TJ Friedl, giving the Reds a narrow lead. The Pirates' bats remained mostly silent, with only a few more hits scattered across the innings, and unfortunately, no additional runs could be manufactured.
Final Push Falls Short
In the 9th inning, Cruz drew a walk, giving fans hope for a rally. But after Andrew McCutchen flew out, a lined into double play by Nick Gonzales ended the game rather abruptly. It was a frustrating close to a game where the Pirates couldn't quite find their rhythm at the plate.
Let's shake it off and come back stronger for the next one, Buccos fans! Until then, keep cheering and waving those Jolly Rogers!
