A Tough Loss in San Francisco

A Strong Start
Early on, it looked like the Reds were in control. The top of the 3rd was a massive inning for us. TJ Friedl opened the scoring with a double to right, sending Jake Fraley home. Elly De La Cruz then doubled to bring Austin Wynns and Friedl in, and Gavin Lux continued the spree with a single that scored both Santiago Espinal and De La Cruz. We raced to a 5-0 lead and were feeling optimistic!

Shift in Momentum
Things took a turn in the bottom of the 6th when the Giants began their comeback. A wild pitch allowed Jung Hoo Lee to score, and hits from Wilmer Flores and Patrick Bailey tightened the game significantly. By the end of the 6th, our lead dwindled to just one run, 6-5. The Giants tied it up in the 8th with a solo homer from Flores.

Heartbreaking Finish
We went into extra innings, but the Giants clinched it in the bottom of the 10th with a walk-off two-run homer from Mike Yastrzemski. The final score of 8-6 was hard to swallow given our promising start.

Despite the outcome, our Reds showed promising grit and determination. We fought hard, and there were definitely moments to cheer for. We'll regroup and come back stronger next game. Let's continue rooting for our team. Go Reds!
