Reds Triumph Over Cardinals with a 9-4 Victory! 🎉

What a game, Reds fans! Our boys showed up and laid it on thick against the Cardinals in St. Louis. This 9-4 win feels oh-so-sweet, especially with so many standout moments. Let’s break down the game, inning by inning.

Early Innings: Finding Our Footing

The first two innings were quite the pitcher’s duel. We had Jonathan India flied out and Elly De La Cruz striking out in the top of the 1st. Spencer Steer and Jake Fraley both singled, but we couldn't capitalize as Noelvi Marte grounded into a fielder's choice.

Meanwhile, our defense was on lock, with Hunter Greene striking out Willson Contreras to keep the Cards scoreless. By the end of the 2nd, it was still 0-0.

3rd Inning: Reds Take the Lead 💥

We lit up the board in the 3rd! Austin Wynns started us off with a double. Then Jonathan India knocked him in with another double, followed by Elly De La Cruz doing the same to bring India home. Two doubles and just like that, it was 2-0!

The Cardinals managed to score a run, thanks to a dropped foul ball, giving Siani a chance to single and score Carpenter. But we held them to one run.

5th Inning: Massive Explosion of Runs 🚀

The top of the 5th was a dream! Elly De La Cruz tripled, then Spencer walked, and Fraley got hit by a pitch to load the bases. Noelvi Marte reached base on a fielding error by Arenado, scoring De La Cruz. Santiago Espinal got in the game, but it was Stuart Fairchild who did major damage with a single, scoring both Steer and Fraley.

Will Benson followed suit with a single bringing in two more runs, and Wynns doubled again to plate Benson. We were unstoppable, putting up a 7-run inning and extending the lead to 8-1!

7th Inning: Reds Add Insurance, Cardinals Fight Back

In the 7th, Jonathan India doubled again, bringing in Austin Wynns. We weren't done yet, pushing our lead to 9-2!

The Cardinals tried to mount a comeback with singles and walks, scoring two runs across the 7th and 8th innings, but they weren't enough to catch our big lead.

Closing the Game: Solid Pitching Shuts Down Cardinals 🚪

A flawless 9th inning from Scott Suter sealed the deal. He struck out Carlson and got Winn and Burleson to fly and line out respectively.

Final score: 9-4. The Reds' offense was on fire and our bullpen did its job superbly. Big congrats to the team and let’s keep this momentum going!🔴⚾

Go Reds! 🎉🎊
