Candelario's Big Day Lifts Reds Over Guardians! 
What a fantastic game at Great American Ball Park! The Cincinnati Reds took down the Cleveland Guardians with a final score of 4-2. Our boys showed some grit and resilience, especially thanks to Jeimer Candelario, who put the team on his back with two clutch home runs! 
Early Lead with a Bang! 
The action started early when Jeimer Candelario crushed a solo homer to center field in the bottom of the 1st inning. Talk about setting the tone! The Guardians tried to respond but our pitching held them to just one run going into the 5th inning.Struggles but Holding On 
Though Elly De La Cruz and TJ Friedl had a tough day at the plate with multiple strikeouts, our defense stood tall. Tyler Stephenson had a great eye, walking twice to keep the momentum going. Things got tricky when Cleveland took the lead in the 5th, but our spirit never wavered! Candelario's Heroics Seals the Deal! 
The game-changing moment came in the bottom of the 6th inning. With Spencer Steer and TJ Friedl on base, Jeimer Candelario stepped up and launched his second home run of the game, this time to right field. A three-run shot! Then, came the excellent relief pitching. Lucas Sims, Sam Moll, and Alexis Díaz each played their part beautifully to keep the Guardians off the board, closing out the game strong. Díaz's 9th inning was particularly satisfying as he shut the door with ease.
Game Recap and What's Next?
We had a mix of ups and downs at the plate, but there's so much to be proud of. The pitching staff, led by Nick Lodolo, was crucial in holding Cleveland to just two runs. The solid team effort, with key plays from our bullpen and some big-time hitting, showcased our potential. Next up, let's carry this momentum forward. Go Reds!
