Tough Day at Comerica Park

Hey, fellow Tigers fans! 😓 Let's recap today's game against the Cleveland Guardians. It was a tough outing for our Detroit Tigers, with a final score of 7-0 in favor of the Guardians. Not the result we were hoping for, but let's dive into the game's highlights and moments.

Guardians Take Control Early

The game started with both teams off to a slow start, as the first inning saw quick outs on both sides. Kerry Carpenter struck out swinging, and Gleyber Torres grounded out to the pitcher, unable to get the bats going early. The Guardians took the lead in the 4th inning with a two-run double by Carlos Santana, giving them a 2-0 advantage.

Struggle to Make Contact

We had some opportunities, but couldn't convert them into runs. Dillon Dingler started the third inning with a single, followed by a single from Javier Báez. Yet, our lineup couldn't bring them home, and it seemed to be the theme throughout the game. The Guardians gradually increased their lead, with Angel Martínez homering in the 5th and scoring two more runs off an error and a double in the 9th inning.

Looking Ahead

Our bats stayed quiet for the rest of the game, with strikeouts from Akil Baddoo, Riley Greene, and Justyn-Henry Malloy in the final innings. It's a disappointing loss, but we've got to shake it off and come back stronger in the next game. Let's continue to root for our boys and hope for better days ahead! Go Tigers! 🐯⚾
