Tough Day at the Office for the Guardians
Well, folks, what a tough day on the diamond for our Cleveland Guardians as we faced the Detroit Tigers and were unable to make any major dents offensively. Despite having moments of promise, we ultimately couldn't get on the scoreboard, resulting in a 5-0 shutout loss at the hands of Detroit.Early Innings Set the Stage
Our team got off to a rocky start, as Angel Martínez struck out to lead off the game, followed by Gabriel Arias and Jose Ramírez both failing to reach base. There wasn't much action in the early innings, as both teams were locked in a defensive struggle. Our pitchers held Detroit scoreless through the first three innings, giving us a chance to strike first, but our bats just couldn't connect.

It was in the bottom of the 4th inning where things started to go a bit awry for the Guardians. After a throwing error by our pitcher allowed Detroit's Riley Greene to reach first, Detroit seized the opportunity with a two-run homer by Zach McKinstry. Consecutive hits pushed the lead further, eventually marking five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, which ultimately set the tone for the rest of the game.
No Answers at the Plate
Despite a few promising moments, like Will Wilson doubling in the 6th and Jose Ramírez's single in the 7th, we couldn't find the right formula to complete any scoring rallies. Detroit's pitching duo was just too strong today, keeping our bats silent throughout the nine innings.
