A Slow Start for the Guardians
The game didn't start as we would have hoped, with the top of the 1st inning leaving our Guardians scoreless as Steven Kwan, Daniel Schneemann, and Jose Ramirez were unsuccessful at-bat. Meanwhile, the Mets capitalized in the bottom half when Francisco Lindor scored on a sacrifice fly by Pete Alonso after advancing to third on a wild pitch. The Mets took an early 1-0 lead, but I had faith in our boys.
Guardians Fight Back
The Mets extended their lead to 2-0 in the 2nd inning, but our Guardians demonstrated resilience in the 4th inning. Kwan singled and then, after some strategic plays, Kyle Manzardo came through with a center-field single to bring him home.

Seizing the Lead
In the top of the 7th inning, the Guardians seized their opportunity. With two outs, CJ Kayfus and Brayan Rocchio were on base when Kwan delivered a clutch single to center, bringing Kayfus home and giving us a 3-2 lead. The joy in Cleveland could be felt all the way from New York!
Holding onto Victory
As the innings rolled on, our pitchers were nothing short of phenomenal. Kolby Allard and Jacob Junis held the Mets off in the 7th and 8th innings, ensuring our slim lead remained intact. The tension was palpable in the 9th inning, but Will Smith came in to close things out. With determination and precision, he retired Vientos, McNeil, and Alvarez to seal the win for the Guardians.

In the end, it's a 3-2 victory for the Cleveland Guardians! Celebrations are in order as the team showed great spirit and determination to claw back and secure the win. Way to go, Guardians!
