Game Summary: Guardians vs. Mariners (2-7 Loss)

Well, Guardians fans, it was a tough one out there in Seattle. We started out strong, making some noise with Nolan Jones and Steven Kwan hitting back-to-back homers in the 3rd inning to put us in the lead 2-0. A collective cheer went up, and we thought maybe, just maybe, it was going to be our night. 🌟

Start Strong, Finish... Well, Not So Strong

Our boys couldn't keep the momentum going from that exciting 3rd inning. Carlos Santana managed a single in the 4th, and Bo Naylor gave us a glimmer of hope with a walk, but we couldn't capitalize on those opportunities. Despite several players getting on base, crucial double plays and pop-outs kept us from extending our lead. Our hopes began to dim as the innings progressed.

Mariners' Surge Steals the Show

The Mariners stormed back in the bottom of the 4th, tying the game at 2-2 with a Rowdy Tellez homer and a J.P. Crawford RBI single. From there, the Mariners found their rhythm, and it was a struggle to contain them in the 7th inning, where they posted 4 runs, changing the tide of the game completely. Jorge Polanco hit a bomb in the 8th to widen their lead to 7-2, and unfortunately, we didn’t find any late-game heroics.

Final Thoughts

It's never easy to take a loss, especially when we have those brief moments of brilliance. We saw some good things early on, but the Mariners capitalized on their opportunities when it mattered most. Such is baseball. We’ll get 'em next time! Let's keep supporting our boys and look forward to the next showdown at Progressive Field. Go Guardians! ⚾
