Tough Loss at Home

The Toronto Blue Jays played host to the Cleveland Guardians, and despite a solid effort, they fell short with a final score of 3-1. 😔

Early Innings Struggle

In the top of the 2nd inning, the Guardians struck first. Will Brennan doubled to right, followed by a double from Daniel Schneemann that brought Brennan home. Our Blue Jays struggled to respond early on. In the bottom of the inning, Bo Bichette walked and George Springer followed with another walk, but a double play by Isiah Kiner-Falefa ended the threat. 😬

Guardians Take Control

The Guardians increased their lead in the 4th inning with a homer by Will Brennan making it 2-0. Then in the 5th inning, Cleveland scored again when Andres Giménez singled to right, driving in Brayan Rocchio. That put us down 3-0. 😟

Fighting Back

Our boys showed some life in the 6th inning. Ernie Clement doubled to left, and Davis Schneider singled to center, bringing Clement home and putting the Blue Jays on the board. It was great to see some spark in the lineup! ⚾

Shut Down by Guardians' Pen

The Guardians' bullpen was tough throughout the late innings, keeping the Jays’ offense in check. Alejandro Kirk struck out swinging in the 7th with a runner on base, and Spencer Horwitz and Danny Jansen couldn't get anything going in the 8th. By the 9th inning, the Guardians' closer Emmanuel Clase shut the door, striking out Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and retiring Bo Bichette and Justin Turner to end the game. 😞

Looking Ahead

While it was a tough loss at home, it's important to stay optimistic. There were some bright spots, and we'll need to build on those as we move forward. Let's keep supporting our Jays and look forward to the next game. Go Blue Jays! 💙⚾
