Heartbreak in Washington

What a rollercoaster game for our Cleveland Guardians fans! Despite a valiant fight, the Nationals just edged us out with a 10-9 victory. It was a slugfest that saw both teams exchanging blows, but unfortunately, we came up just short in the end 😢.

The Early Battle

We managed to draw first blood thanks to a wild pitch allowing Daniel Schneemann to score in the top of the 1st. Jhonkensy Noel stepped up big in the 2nd inning, blasting a solo homer. Our guys held the lead at 2-1 after the second inning. But the Nationals answered back with a two-run shot by James Wood in the 3rd.

The Rally

The 7th inning was a whirlwind for the Guardians as we exploded for a six-run inning to take an 8-6 lead. Huge credit to Carlos Santana and Bo Naylor for their clutch hits, and Gabriel Arias, who delivered a crucial two-run single. Just when it felt like momentum was on our side, the Nationals came back with a stunner, scoring four runs of their own in the bottom of the 7th, taking back the lead at 10-8.

Never Say Die

Our Guardians didn't give up. Carlos Santana and Bo Naylor got us started with hits in the 9th inning, narrowing the gap thanks to a sacrifice fly by Gabriel Arias. Unfortunately, despite getting one run closer, the Nationals closed it out, leaving our boys just one run short.

It was a true battle with plenty of highs and lows. A tip of the cap to our boys for fighting until the very end 💪. On to the next one, we still have a lot of baseball left this season! Go Guardians! ⚾
