Tough Loss for the Rockies

Hey Rockies fans, today was not our day at Fenway Park as we faced the Boston Red Sox. The final score was a frustrating 9-3 loss. 😞 The game started off with some promise but ultimately, the Sox pulled ahead, leaving us in the dust.

Strong Start Fizzles Out

Things were looking optimistic at the start as Tyler Freeman reached on an infield single and then saw Brenton Doyle drive in Thairo Estrada after a crucial error by Trevor Story. We took the early lead at 1-0. However, our excitement was short-lived. The Red Sox responded swiftly in the bottom of the 2nd, showing our weaknesses, and bringing the score to 3-1 with some clutch hits by Wilyer Abreu and Abraham Toro.

Bright Spots Amidst the Struggles

Although it was a tough night, there were some highlights worth mentioning. Ryan McMahon and Thairo Estrada made some solid contributions, with an Estrada double and McMahon driving in a run in the 6th inning, bringing us within two runs at 5-3. That inning gave us hope until late-game heroics from Boston.

Late Inning Woes

The Red Sox proved relentless in their approach. Roman Anthony's big homer in the 5th and additional runs in the 7th caused our spirits to sag further. The cupcakes and hot dogs at the park were our only respite as the Sox added four more runs across the 7th and 8th innings. The final nail in the coffin were dingers by Ceddanne Rafaela and Romy González in the 8th.

Time to Regroup

We saw some great individual efforts like Tyler Freeman with two hits, but as a team, we couldn't pull together enough to overcome Boston's offense. With the loss logged, it's time we dust off our caps and look ahead. 🙌💪 Let's hope for better results in the next matchup. Go Rockies!
