A Slow Start, But a Big Finish
Ah, what a day at Fenway Park! Our beloved Boston Red Sox took on the Colorado Rockies, and it was a game of two very different halves. The first part of the game felt like one big strikeout clinic - no love lost there! The Rockies came out swinging in the first few innings, but our pitchers were steady as a rock. A huge shoutout to our defense for keeping them scoreless. It wasn't until the bottom of the 6th when Trevor Story and the boys decided they'd had enough of the zero on the scoreboard and went on a hitting spree.
The 6th Inning Turnaround
The action kicked off in the 6th when Romy González singled, bringing a glimmer of hope. Then, with Roman Anthony and Rob Refsnyder on deck and getting on base, it was Trevor Story who broke the stalemate by driving in the first run. Ceddanne Rafaela's double and Jarren Duran's single added more to the tally, giving us a comfortable 4-0 lead. But we were just getting started!
An Inning to Remember
With the crowd on their feet, the 7th inning belonged to the Sox. Marcelo Mayer showed his quick legs with a single and ended up scoring thanks to an impressive triple from González. Anthony brought González home with a neat single, then Story blew the roof off with a colossal homer, driving in three runs. Duran wasn't to be outdone - his homer capped off the inning, putting a beautiful cherry on top of the 10-run sundae.
Finishing Strong
Although the Rockies managed to get on the board with a 2-run homer in the 9th off Hunter Goodman, it was too little too late for them. Our bullpen closed things down, ensuring there were no last-minute surprises. A 10-2 win is always sweet and a testament to the Sox's persistence. Onward and upward, Red Sox Nation!
Let's keep this momentum going, Boston! Until next time, keep the faith and Go Sox!
