A Solid Start for the Cubbies
The matchup at Wrigley Field between our beloved Chicago Cubs and the Colorado Rockies started with the Cubs taking an early lead. After the Rockies stranded their batters at the top of the first, Ian Happ made his way to third and eventually scored thanks to a groundout by Dansby Swanson. It always feels great to see the Cubs start with a 1-0 lead early in the game!
A Rocky Scare, But Tucker Shines
The fifth inning was a bit of a scare for us when Mickey Moniak from the Rockies managed to hit a home run, leveling the score.

Cubs Close it Out: The Wrigleyville Way
In the seventh, after a series of strategic moves, Kyle Tucker hit a clutch sacrifice fly that allowed Matt Shaw (who advanced thanks to a Rockies' error) to score, solidifying our lead to 3-1. Our bullpen did an outstanding job in the final innings, including a closing performance from Miguel Palencia, who sealed the deal in the ninth with two strikeouts and a quick groundout.

Overall, it was a nail-biter, but the Cubs came out on top, securing a 3-1 victory. There’s nothing quite like wrapping up a series against the Rockies with a victory at home. Go, Cubs, Go!
