The Comeback Cubs!

What a game, Cubs fans! It's always a good day when we can celebrate a thrilling victory, and the Cubbies gave us just that against the Colorado Rockies. 🎉 It wasn't easy, but it was certainly a team effort and our boys showed remarkable resolve and tenacity to pull through in 11 innings with a 4-3 win.

Early Lead and Solid Defense

The game started off slow with both teams struggling to get on the scoreboard in the first two innings. But things started to heat up in the third when Matt Shaw got us started with an infield single and then swiftly stole second. Seiya Suzuki came through with a clutch single that brought Shaw home, and a smart play by Pete Crow-Armstrong added another for a 2-0 lead. Our defense, particularly in the outfield, was spot on with solid plays by Ian Happ and Crow-Armstrong, keeping the Rockies at bay.

Rockies Fight Back

The Rockies managed to claw back into the game, with Brenton Doyle homering in the 7th inning to tie it up at 2-2. Our pitchers had their share of highlights and challenges; Thielbar and Brasier did their parts to maintain pressure, but Rockies kept pushing. Unfortunately, Doyle found his rhythm but thanks to initiatives on our end, they couldn’t do much more damage.

Extra Innings Thriller

This game went the distance, folks—11 innings. The Rockies managed to score one in the 11th, but our Cubs came out swinging in the bottom half. It was a nail-biting finish, but enter Michael Busch and super-sub Jon Berti, who pinch-ran and exhibited a brilliant steal and speed. With the game on the line, Matt Shaw executed magnificently, sending a walk-off single to the right, driving Berti home and sealing a 4-3 victory for the Cubs in style. 🐻💙

In Conclusion

Games like these test the heart, and today, the Cubs proved why we love them so much. Their determination and teamwork led to an exhilarating victory, and as fans, we couldn't ask for more. Let's keep riding this high and look forward to the next game. Go, Cubs, Go! 🏆⚾
