Tough Loss in Extras

Hey Rockies fans, it's a bit of a tough one tonight as we took on the Cubs at Wrigley Field. It was a nail-biter that went all the way to the 11th inning, but unfortunately, we fell just short with a final score of 3-4. 😞

Early Innings and Rocky Resilience

The game started off as a pitching duel, with both teams keeping each other scoreless through the first two innings. Our boys couldn't get much going initially as players like Jordan Beck and Ezequiel Tovar struggled to find their rhythm. However, the Cubs managed to snatch the lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning after Seiya Suzuki and Pete Crow-Armstrong brought in runs, taking a 2-0 lead. But don't count out the Rockies just yet! We clawed back in the 4th with Ryan McMahon making good use of Beck's initial steal, cutting the Cubs' lead to 2-1. 💪

The Battle Continues

Brenton Doyle kept us alive with a solo homer in the 7th inning to tie the game at 2-2. 🎉 Our pitching staff did a stellar job, keeping Chicago at bay through the remainder of the regular innings, forcing the game into extras. We took the lead in the 11th thanks to Doyle's RBI, pushing us ahead 3-2. However, the Cubs took advantage of a few key plays in their half of the inning, with Michael Busch and Matt Shaw ultimately sealing our fate with runs that won the game 3-4.

Another Day, Another Game

While it's tough to end on a loss, especially in such a close game, these nail-biters show the heart our boys have, giving it their all until the very last play. The Rockies' spirit is undeniable, and as always, we'll bounce back stronger. Onward and upward to the next one! 🌟

Let's keep supporting and believing in our team, Rockies fans! Go Rockies! 🚀
