Tough Night for the Astros
Well, Astros fans, it was a tough game for us tonight as we faced off against the Colorado Rockies, ultimately falling by a score of 6-1. Although the scoreboard didn't reflect it, we had a few moments of excitement and hope during the matchup.
Sanchez's Explosive Start
Right off the bat in the bottom of the second inning, Jesus Sanchez ignited our spirits with a solo home run to right center that sailed an impressive 439 feet!
Rockies' Explosive Third Inning
The third inning was the turning point of the game. The Rockies capitalized on a fielding error and quickly seized control of the game. Hunter Goodman delivered a blow with a two-run homer to tighten their grip, putting the Rockies ahead 4-1 at this point.
Defensive Efforts and Missed Opportunities
Despite our efforts, we just couldn't seem to string together enough hits to overcome the deficit. Jeremy Peña and Carlos Correa both had solid performances with singles, and Dubón had a nice hit before getting caught stretching to second. But the team's bats were mostly silent throughout the remainder of the game.We had a few great defensive plays, and the bullpen did a decent job of holding the Rockies' offense in check after that rough third inning. Hats off to Ort for striking out two batters and keeping spirits up even in the final frame.
Looking Forward
It wasn't our night, but I've no doubt the boys will regroup and be ready for the next game! We're a resilient bunch, and with players like Sanchez, Peña, and Alvarez, we're always in it with a fighting chance. Let’s get ready to bring the fire for the rest of the season, Astros fans!
