Rockies Triumph in Houston: A 6-1 Victory!
What a game, Rockies fans! Our boys from Colorado handed the Houston Astros a solid defeat, emerging victorious with a decisive 6-1 score. The Rockies put on a clinic with brilliant plays, especially in the early innings that set the tone for our triumph. Let's dive into the details!
Rockies’ Explosive 3rd Inning
After a scoreless start, the top of the 3rd inning saw the Rockies come alive! Following a Kyle Karros single and error assistance, Ryan Ritter reached base, and Tyler Freeman brought Karros home with a grounded out. Then, Mickey Moniak drove in Ritter with a single, stealing second base shortly after. The magic continued when Hunter Goodman blasted a two-run homer, sending Moniak home and pushing the Rockies ahead 4-1. Way to go, boys!
Moniak and Goodman Shine
Top-notch performances from Mickey Moniak and Hunter Goodman were key. In the 5th inning, Moniak struck again with a beautiful double, allowing Karros and Ritter to score, extending our lead to 6-1. Our pitching staff held strong, and despite rebounds from the Astros, they couldn't break through the steadfast Rockies' defense. A shout-out to our bullpen for ensuring the Astros remained at bay for the rest of the game!

Securing the Win
The rest of the game saw our Rockies fending off any comeback attempts by the Astros. Major kudos to our pitchers who shut down a potentially overwhelming Astros lineup. From the crack of the bat by Goodman to the agile plays in the field, it was indeed a delightful day to be a Rockies fan. Here’s to the joy of victory and may it be a sign of more to come this season! Keep swinging, Rockies!

Go Rockies!
