Tough Day for the Rockies 
Well, Rockies fans, today was a tough one. The Rockies couldn't get their bats going and ultimately fell to the Astros with a final score of 1-7.Pitching Woes and Silent Bats
The game started off slow for both teams, with no runs scored in the first three innings. Brenton Doyle, Ezequiel Tovar, and Ryan McMahon failed to get on base in the first inning, all succumbing to the Astros' pitching.By the fourth inning, the Astros broke the ice with Jose Altuve stealing bases and Yainer Diaz driving him in for the first run. It was a harbinger of things to come. The Rockies couldn’t respond, with Brendan Rodgers and Michael Toglia grounding out and striking out in successive innings.
A Flicker of Hope
Nolan Jones did give us a flicker of hope with a double in the 5th inning, but Jake Cave struck out looking to end the threat. The Astros, meanwhile, kept the pressure on. They scored again in the 5th inning thanks to an RBI single from Altuve.In the 8th inning, the Rockies finally got on the board. Jacob Cave hit a ground rule double that pushed Jones to third. Doyle then hit a sacrifice fly to center, allowing Jones to score. However, it was too little too late, as Tovar struck out swinging to end the inning.
Astros Take Control
The Astros continued to pile on the runs with a big 7th inning, pushing their lead to 6-0 before the Rockies could register a run. They added one more in the 8th thanks to Dubón’s ground rule double and several errors from the Rockies' defense.Final Inning Woes
The 9th inning was our last gasp, but it wasn't meant to be. McMahon and Rodgers both struck out swinging, and Toglia grounded out to shortstop, sealing our fate with a final score of 1-7.Looking Forward
