Rockies Go Down in Tough Game Against Dodgers
Ah, what a rough outing for our beloved Colorado Rockies today as they faced off against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The final score was a crushing 9-0 loss, and while it's hard to watch our team struggle, let's break down the game as best we can.
Innings of Opportunities (or Lack Thereof)
The Rockies seemed to have a quiet offense throughout the game. In the top of the 1st inning, things started with Tyler Freeman flying out to center. An initial walk by Hunter Goodman gave us some hope, but it was short-lived as the next batters couldn't capitalize.The relentless Dodgers managed a 4-run second inning. The mistakes began with a fielding error, adding to the pressure on our pitchers. Andy Pages, in particular, caused trouble, with an RBI double followed by a sacrifice fly by Enrique Hernández to bring in another run. Then there was Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts continuing with their firepower, contributing with back-to-back RBI opportunities that led to four runs in total.
Late Innings and Final Blow
In the 8th inning, the Dodgers truly sealed the deal. A grand slam from Mookie Betts crushed any resurgence hopes for our Rockies. The mood shifted entirely with Teoscar Hernández bringing an additional homer over the fence, pushing the score to 9-0.Despite a few walks scattered throughout, including those by Ezequiel Tovar and Michael Toglia, the Rockies couldn't find a way to bring any of our players home.
