Rockies Edge Out Marlins in a Thrilling Victory!
Hey Rockies fans, what a nail-biter we had today against the Miami Marlins! Our Rockies pulled off a 3-2 win, and it was a game filled with intense moments and some stellar plays. Let's dive into the action-packed showdown!
Early Struggles on Both Sides
The first three innings were a bit of a stalemate. Our batting lineup struggled to find a rhythm, with Jordan Beck, Thairo Estrada, and Hunter Goodman all taking a seat via strikeouts or groundouts in their first at-bats. Miami's Xavier Edwards and Jesus Sánchez also found themselves unable to gain ground. However, it was in the bottom of the third when the Marlins managed to scrape two runs, giving us some jitters.
Rockies Rally in the 5th
The comeback began in the fifth inning — Mickey Moniak set the stage with a walk and a stolen base, reaching third on Tyler Freeman's hustle infield single. Then, Beck chipped in with a single, bringing Moniak home. Estrada's sacrifice fly sealed the deal to bring us to a tie, with Freeman scoring the second run. The game was back on even ground!
Goodman's Game-Changing Home Run
The moment of brilliance came in the 8th inning when Hunter Goodman absolutely annihilated a pitch, sending it 369 feet into the left-field stands. That homer put the Rockies ahead! From there, our bullpen held strong, with Halvorsen shutting the door on Miami's attempts in the 9th, securing our well-deserved win.
A huge shoutout to all our players for their grit and determination today. It wasn't easy, but the Rockies showed resilience and teamwork to claim victory. See you all in the next game — let's keep this momentum rolling!
