A Night of Close Calls

The Miami Marlins faced off against the Colorado Rockies, and while the final score wasn't in our favor, the team showed resilience and kept us on the edge of our seats 🐟💪. The Rockies got an early lead with a triple by Hunter Goodman in the top of the first inning, bringing Thairo Estrada home. Our bats were silent initially as Colorado's pitching kept us at bay.

Mid-Game Struggles

The game continued to challenge our team as the Rockies extended their lead to 2-0 in the fifth inning thanks to a ground rule double by Jordan Beck that scored Tyler Freeman. And by the sixth inning, a sacrifice fly by Brenton Doyle brought Goodman in, making it 3-0. Seeing our Marlins battle hard but come up short against the Rockies was tough 😟.

Late Game Rally

However, things took an exciting turn in the seventh inning when Eric Wagaman's ground rule double paved the way for us to finally break the ice ⚾. Heriberto Hernández singled, allowing Connor Norby to score, and soon after, Jesus Sánchez’s fielder's choice sent Wagaman home, reducing the deficit to just one run. Unfortunately, despite Liam Hicks hitting a crucial double, Sánchez was thrown out at home, and we couldn't turn the tide any further.

Final Inning Drama

We hoped for a ninth-inning comeback, but the Rockies’ bullpen held firm. Otto Lopez, Agustin Ramírez, and Connor Norby were unable to find a gap, ending a night filled with anticipation and near-misses. Despite the 3-2 loss, our Marlins played with passion, and the spirit of the game was there until the final out. Keep fighting, Marlins! 🐬👏

Stay hopeful, fans! There's always another game to cheer for our favorite team. Let's keep supporting them! 🌊⚾
