Rockies Strike First and Hold On
What a thrilling game!
Our Colorado Rockies managed to edge out a 3-2 victory against the Miami Marlins. It was the kind of performance that keeps you on the edge of your seat from the first pitch to the final out. The top of the first inning set the tone when Thairo Estrada doubled to right, followed by a high octane triple by Hunter Goodman bringing Estrada in to score. Already, the Rockies were up 1-0! 
Building on the Lead
As the game progressed, Tyler Freeman and Jordan Beck collaborated to extend our lead in the 5th inning. Freeman doubled to left, followed by an impressive ground-rule double by Beck that brought him home. Such teamwork, resulting in a 2-0 advantage for the Rockies.
The 6th inning didn't disappoint either. Goodman showed his mettle again with a double to center, which set him up to score after Brenton Doyle's sacrifice fly. Rockies were cruising with a 3-0 lead. 
Defense Holds the Fort
While Miami did attempt a late comeback in the 7th inning, cutting our lead to 3-2, the Rockies' defense refused to relent. With the bullpen stepping up, Justin Bird and Jordan Vodnik managed to thwart Miami’s further advances. Special kudos to Tyler Kinley who closed the game in style, ensuring that Miami couldn’t claw back in the bottom of the 9th. Final Score was 3-2 in favor of the Rockies
