Rockies vs. Mets Game Recap: A Battle to the Very End
Hey Rockies fans!
What a rollercoaster of a game against the Mets today. We came so close but just couldn't quite pull it off. Here's a quick recap of the action:Early Lead Thanks to Toglia's Homer
Our boys got off to a promising start in the 2nd inning. With Brendan Rodgers drawing a walk, Michael Toglia stepped up and knocked a 403-foot homer to put us on the board, giving us an early 2-0 lead.
Mets Strike Back with Homers
The Mets answered back in the bottom of the 2nd with a power surge of their own. Mark Vientos, Jose Iglesias, and Harrison Bader each homered, turning the game around and putting the Mets up 3-2. Ouch.
Rockies Struggle to Regain Momentum
The next few innings were tough for our Rocky Mountain squad. We couldn't manage to produce much offense, and the Mets extended their lead with another homer from Bader and one from Iglesias. It was 7-2 by the end of the 5th inning.Late-Inning Rally Falls Short
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Brendan Rodgers sparked some hope with a solo shot in the 7th, followed by Charlie Blackmon and Brenton Doyle adding crucial homers in the 8th. We closed the gap to 7-6, setting the stage for a nail-biting 9th inning.Heartbreaking Finish
Despite a valiant effort to put runners on base, Ezequiel Tovar struck out swinging to end the game, leaving us just one run short.
