Tough Day at the Office for the Rockies
Hey Rockies fans!
What a rollercoaster game against the Mets. The final tally was 8-2 in favor of New York, but let's still spread some love for our guys. There was a bright start, but things ultimately didn’t go our way.A Dream Start by Ezequiel Tovar
We saw a flicker of hope early on when Ezequiel Tovar launched a solo homer in the top of the 1st inning, sending that ball flying 376 feet into the stands!
At that point, we held a fleeting 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, that was short-lived as the Mets came back strong.Rockies Struggles and Defensive Woes
The Mets bats were on fire, especially with Brett Baty tripling in the bottom of the 1st, which allowed them to rack up three runs quickly. Our defensive line had a rough day, committing a couple of key errors that the Mets capitalized on. Thairo Estrada faced challenges with a couple of fielding mishaps that didn’t help our cause.Battling Spirit Through the Innings
Even though it was a tough loss, the Rockies displayed moments of promise. In the 7th, Thairo Estrada drove Ezequiel Tovar home with a well-placed single, adding another run to our score. However, despite some good contact and Ryan McMahon's late-game double, the Mets' pitching proved too strong, stifling most of our batting lineup.Looking Ahead
It's never easy to swallow a loss, but it’s all part of the game we love. The Rockies will look to bounce back and fine-tune their game, hoping for a change in fortune in their upcoming matches. We believe in our team! Here's to our Rockies regrouping and charging back with full force in the next game.
