A Tough Loss for the Cardinals

Hey Cardinals fans, 😢 it was a nail-biter tonight at Busch Stadium, but unfortunately, we couldn’t come out on top. Our beloved Cardinals fought hard, but the Rockies managed to edge us out with a final score of 6-5.

Promising Start and Power Plays

We saw some excellent plays early on! In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Pedro Pagés doubled to left, bringing both Lars Nootbaar and Thomas Saggese home to give us an early 2-0 lead. In the 4th, Lars Nootbaar continued his great form with a solo homer to right center, making it 3-1.

Then in the 5th, Alec Burleson sent a blast over the right field fence, scoring Masyn Winn and pushing our lead to 5-2. Everything seemed to be going in our favor, and the crowd erupted with excitement!

Late-Game Heartbreak

Things took a turn during the later innings. The Rockies' Mickey Moniak hit a home run in the 6th to cut our lead to two, making it 5-3. Then, in a heart-stopping moment at the top of the 9th, Hunter Goodman hit a daunting 436-foot homer that brought in Kyle Karros and tipped the scales 5-6.

In the bottom of the 9th, we were left hoping for a comeback. But alas, it was not our day. Despite Thomas Saggese, Pedro Pagés, and Brendan Donovan making contact, we couldn’t quite find the hits we needed.

Looking Ahead

Though tonight's game didn’t go our way, there are still many positives to take forward. Our lineup is showing potential, and the heart the team displayed today shows promise for upcoming games. Keep your chins up, Cardinals fans! We’ll be back stronger. 💪⚾ Let's rally behind our team and look forward to the next battle on the diamond!

Until next time, go Cards! 🎉❤️
