A Rollercoaster of Emotions in Texas
Hey Rockies faithful! What a nail-biter of a game we just witnessed against the Texas Rangers. Although we ultimately fell short with a 1-2 loss, there were some glimmers of hope and promising plays from our Rockies squad. Let's break it down!Early Lead Thanks to Goodman!
We started strong in the top of the 2nd inning when our catcher, Hunter Goodman, single-handedly got on base and then cleverly utilized a balk to get to second. It was Nick Martini's single that brought Goodman home, putting us ahead 1-0. It felt like we had the momentum right there, and our pitchers held their ground against the Rangers' lineup beautifully until the 6th inning.
Langford’s Homer Changes the Pace
The bottom of the 6th inning was a bit of a heartbreaker when Wyatt Langford smacked a 412-foot homer, bringing in a pair of runs for the Rangers and giving them a 2-1 lead. Despite this setback, our boys didn’t give up, keeping the pressure alive in the latter innings.Opportunities in the 9th
Our Rockies made a push in the top of the 9th with Ryan McMahon and Michael Toglia both getting on base. Sean Bouchard drew a walk that loaded the bases, stirring up hopeful cheers from us Rockies fans. But alas, with two outs, Kyle Farmer grounded into a double play that ended our chance at a comeback.Looking Ahead
While the final score wasn’t in our favor, there were definitely moments of brilliance on both sides of the field for the Rockies. We showed resilience, and it's only a matter of time before those close calls transform into victories. Let's keep those spirits up, Rockies fans! We'll get them next time!
