A Tough Day in Texas

Fellow Rockies fans, it was a challenging evening for our team at Globe Life Field as the Rockies fell 4-1 to the Texas Rangers. Even though the Boys in Purple gave it their all, the Rangers' bats proved to be too much to handle today. But let's break down how the night unfolded.

Promising Start Quickly Fizzles Out

We kicked off the game on a positive note! Jordan Beck singled and then fearlessly swiped second base, setting the stage for Hunter Goodman to drive him home with a solid single to center. This gave us an early 1-0 lead—what a promising start! However, the Rangers quickly replied in the bottom of the first. They took advantage of Josh Jung's massive three-run homer that put them up 3-1, making the climb a lot steeper for us.

Struggles at the Plate

Throughout the game, our lineup struggled to ignite the offense. Brenton Doyle and **company just couldn’t get those key hits when needed. It seemed as though every time we got runners on base, we hit into outs, like in the 6th inning when Goodman grounded into a double play.

Late-Inning Frustration

Even though we saw a glimpse of hope as Ryan McMahon doubled in the 9th, and Goodman got on base with a single, the Rangers' bullpen shut the door on us. The trio of Toglia, Bouchard, and Miller went down on strikes to end the game—a tough way to go out when we had a rally in sight.

Keep your heads up, Rockies fans. It's a long season, and there's plenty of baseball left to be played. Whether a win or a loss, let’s continue to support our Rockies with pride. Here's to hoping for a comeback in the next game! 🐍🟣⚾
