Rockies Win in Washington!
Our Colorado Rockies secured a solid victory over the Washington Nationals today with a final score of 3-1. Right from the get-go, our boys showed what they were made of
.Quick Start in the 1st!
Ezequiel Tovar got things going for us in the top of the 1st with a sharp double to left. Brenton Doyle followed with a single to advance Tovar to third. Ryan McMahon then stepped up, delivering a crucial RBI single to score Tovar and put us on the board early. Things looked promising, but we couldn't capitalize further in the inning. Still, a 1-0 lead is a great place to start!Pitching Dominance
Our pitching staff really kept the Nationals at bay through the game. Each inning, they kept their cool and did not let the Nationals get any traction. An honorable mention to our defensive plays that maintained our lead
. Adding Insurance in the 6th
Top of the 6th saw Brenton Doyle again proving to be a thorn in the Nationals' side with a single to left. Brendan Rodgers joined the party with another single, moving Doyle to second. And then, with some clutch hitting by Nolan Jones, Doyle scored, making it 2-0. A throwing error by Jose Tena allowed Rodgers to cross the plate, tacking on another run for a comfortable 3-0 lead!
Nationals Fight Back But It’s Too Late
Not to be forgotten, the Nationals did have a moment with CJ Abrams hitting a solo homer in the bottom of the 6th. But that was the only blemish on an otherwise stellar pitching performance by our Rockies. The closer, Chivilli, did a commendable job shutting down any remaining threats in the 9th inning, keeping the score firmly at 3-1.A Great Team Effort!
Hats off to the entire Rockies roster tonight. Key hits, timely pitching, and solid defense gave us this much-needed victory on the road. Let's keep up this momentum and keep rooting for our Rockies! Next game can’t come soon enough!
