Let’s dive into what happened and reminisce about the impressive yet frustrating moments this time.Early Tension: Orioles Miss Opportunities
The game began with both teams exchanging zeroes in the first inning as our boys attempted to capitalize on an error from the Tigers. Jackson Holliday enlightening the fans as he stole a base in the third inning, brought us on the board thanks to a clutch single by Gunnar Henderson. But despite several opportunities, the Orioles struggled to muster more runs in the initial innings.Tigers Roar Ahead
The Tigers challenged us with their scoring, notably taking advantage of their chances in the fourth and fifth innings. Zach McKinstry sparked their rally with a triple, and Spencer Torkelson delivered a crucial blow with a 419-foot homer. It was a tough sequence to watch as they surged to a 5-1 lead. Our Rally Comes Up Short
Undeterred, the Orioles mounted an effort to come back into the game. In the eighth inning, Jackson Holliday's doubled, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and then scored on Adley Rutschman's sacrifice fly. Jordan Westburg gave us hope in the ninth inning with a solo homer! Unfortunately, our comeback fell just short as we ended the opportunity-laden inning with a final touch base from Cedric Mullins.Despite the loss, it was heartening to see flashes of brilliance from our spark plugs Holliday, Westburg, and Henderson. We'll rally around our talented squad, proud of their fight and eager to see them take the field again. Go O's!
